The pacific ocean is the most polluted of them all, the waste takes up more space than France, Germany and Spain combined.

there's 1'8 trillion of waste in which most of them are microplastics, and in consequence of this marine animals will swallow these small pieces and this can threaten their lives.
Citarum River
The Citarum river in Indonesia is the most polluted river in the world, Fishermen don't fish fish anymore, because all of the fishes are dead. Some of the fishermen now go to the river to collect the garbage from the river to sell it afterwards. This river is being polluted by plastics, textile factories' chemicals...
Even though the river's conditions are not good, over 25 million persons depend on its water for their daily life. drinking, cleaning, agriculture, cooking...
Overfishing
Overfishing is a really important issue because it decreases the marine animal population and it damages the food-chains.. Also the tools that are used for fishing can harm the nearby ecosystems, for example: when fishing nets get too close to coral reefs, they can demolish them, leaving other fish homeless.

overfishing sometimes is not just about lots of fish being fished in excess, it's sometimes as well about some parts of the animal being chopped off and then the rest of the body is thrown again dead into the ocean.
Blue Planet ii
This is a TV series you'll find in BBC earth, it shows you how is the actual world being "killed" by all of the pollution we create in our daily life. You can see every corner of the world from east to west, and from north to south. If you really want to be aware of all of this issues, it's a very entertaining and engaging series to watch.
